Le Poké Bar: Taking my Sushi Obsession Further

//Le Poké Bar: Taking my Sushi Obsession Further

Le Poké Bar was beyond what I imagined!

When your best friend calls to tell you a new restaurant opened in Montreal, you know the obsession is real! This spot was definitely not sushis,  but a make-your-own bowl kind of place. And indeed, I tried it once and came back a second time the next day because Poké Bar killed it!

The restaurant is located on Crescent Street, in the heart of Downtown Montreal. Not only the location is by far the best, but the place is clean, spotless and the service is speedy. Why go somewhere else during your lunch break at work if you can make your own bowl in less than 20 minutes?

How to Choose

You first chose the base of your bowl, so white or brown rice, noodles, or Israeli couscous, I highly recommend the white rice to keep the real authentic Japanese vibe. You then chose your protein so I picked half salmon and half tuna which was succulent. The fish was so fresh and you could really have a real taste of a real Hawaiian fish (that’s where their fish comes from). I proceeded on adding some toppings such as mango, avocado, seaweed, sesame seeds, cucumbers and edamame, all the things I love most in one bowl. Everything is then mixed all together with a vinaigrette sauce and served to you. SO GOOD. I’d fly back to Montreal right this second just to have a bite of it again.

Everyone who is a sushi lover would love this place so I really hope all of you Montrealers get a chance to hop by and make your own amazing bowls. Don’t forget to watch the video I attached, it looks even better than on the pictures above.

Enjoy!

One of the things I miss the most while exploring Africa is getting great Japanese food. Haven’t found any Japanese food and miss this food so much.
    I love sushi.
