Back in Israel, a dear friend of mine told me to follow Calyn’s Instagram page.I did and loved her positivity and the energy she gave off through her posts and stories. Not only she keeps it real, but she is seriously the cutest! If you’re looking for a great workout in New York City, you can always get inspired by her. You can always find motivation and inspiration when reading her captions. Hoping you guys are enjoying this interview I conducted with her. Calyn and I went to Cha Cha Matcha and spoke over matcha tea, it was a lovely time. I think we can all benefit from all of her advice and her personal take on her fitness journey.

Tell us who you are…

Hi there! My name’s Calyn and I live in NYC with my husband, Aaron. I love all things related to fitness, health and wellness – so much so that I created my Instagram and Blog @calynbrooke, a place where I inspire others to live their healthiest and best life!

Tell us more about your health and wellness journey

From when I started on my fitness journey until now, I have lost about 50 plus pounds. It was a long journey with ups and downs and was not an overnight process. I learned throughout the years what works best for me and my body. It’s been a journey for sure, but I have learned that moving my body and nourishing and fueling my body with healthy foods is what makes me feel best.

What do you love most about your health journey?

I love that I genuinely love it. It’s become a lifestyle for me. I enjoy working out because it feels good to move my body and the endorphins I get from a good workout.  I enjoy eating healthy because I know I am nourishing my body with nutrients.

What are the challenges that come along?

It’s definitely hard to stay motivated ALL THE TIME. There are days where I don’t want to workout, don’t feel like preparing a healthy meal, etc. But I know how good I feel after I crush a workout or nourish my body with whole foods – and that feeling is SO good that it motivates me to continue.

Any advice to people trying to start their own healthy journey? 

Don’t be too hard on yourself. It’s a process and change doesn’t happen overnight.
