About two weeks ago, I was lucky to meet up with the talented Noa Katz, who has a deep passion for bakery dessert and pastries. Student at IDC in Herzliya, Noa is from Strasbourg and always loved baking cakes and tons of goodies. Who can blame her?
Since I was born in Paris and I go back once a year, I never forget to head over to the famous boulangerie and get my favourite things. The first bite is heaven and nothing can ever beat the French bakeries! When I visited Noa two weeks ago, I had the same taste of Paris in my mouth. It was incredible.
L’éclair au Chocolat
I don’t know how, but Noa knew this was my favourite dessert of all times: l’éclair au chocolat. Since I was little, it was always THE one thing I would eat going into a bakery. Coming in to Noa’s and seeing my favourite dessert in mini size put a smile on my face immediately! It was the perfect texture, taste, and as good as all the ones I’ve had in France.
La Crème Brûlée
Next up, la crème brûlée parfaite! First add sugar, then burn the top of it and wait for it to crystallized. Not only I had the chance to see the sugar criticized in front of my eyes but eating it was the best part! The cream was delicious and even though I was already a bit full from the previous dessert, I finished the entire thing!
Noa’s friends started her Instagram for her and she took off since! She is growing on social media slowly but surely and stays true to her authentic French recipes. Since she’s been living in Israel, she realized that no restaurants have good desserts. Indeed, most of the chefs hired cook main dishes and dessert. They are therefore not specialized in pastries.
Noa was the perfect example of someone who wants to change something in the cooking industry and I really hope it works out for her. I also hope you all get to taste her amazing goodies once you’re in Israel.
